Here is the screen version of the December meeting hosted on Blip.tv
In this installment of the Joomla! Detroit user group meetup we did a recap of last month and then jumped right into the question of the night, "How to monetize a Joomla! website". This seemed especially fitting since our new host was the Quicken Loans folks at the Compuware building in down town Detroit.
We covered some basic SEO cash flow concepts and then took on a variety of odds and ends in questions, looked at CloudFlare for site caching and protection... and even checked out some auto blogging tools along with a debate about the value of content aggregated by the HAL 9000.

With the allvideos plugin this seems to playback in QT, would rather have flash... but here is the file if you want to download it.
Ok, so it is a long time coming, but here is the first of hopefully many screen-capture sessions from our monthly meetings. It is a bit long (90 minutes), but if you remember a section that was valuable, you should be able to jump around and find what you are looking for. I experimented with putting my beautiful face in the corner complete with expressive hand gestures... it communicates so much more doesn't it?

I have switched over to the Blip.tv video hosting and distribution system. This should help with bandwidth and cross platform watchability. I think the videos are actually too long for the free service encoding to flv, it fails... but the MP4 should work fine.
I tried to work in the audience group audio, but it did not sync well... so I cut it out for now. Next month we will try again on that. But otherwise here is the continued survey of Joomla! 1.6, K2, Zoo, and jSeblod CCKs with an introduction to Drupal.

We gave a solid overview of Joomla! in comparison to other CMS projects and web design space in general. We also had a great tour of the products from CorePHP. Special guest co-host from Refresh-Detroit.
